Of course, ACORN is the boogey man. Poor minorities who come to your homes, registering voters, and taking away your freedom! Or at least, that is what Glenn Beck and FOX News claims. Even people at the northern burb town halls such as Pete Sessions.
In Dallas, the reality is total opposite. ACORN Dallas helps minorities with foreclosure issues, tax prep, and fending off predatory lenders. They mostly help the poor and lower middle income families of South Dallas, who want their neighborhoods to not look like a shit hole. And who do they typically vote for in partisan races to solve these issues? Democrats! Dun dun dun!
If that means registering people to vote and knocking on your door, so be it. Whitey in Denton County is scared they will move north and bring their brand of social justice with them, as minorities become middle class and move northwards. The selfish bastards in the GOP who run this county won't have it and will do anything to stop it, even if it means misinformation to the public and disruption of town hall meetings with their own Congressmen.
