It is August 1st, 2008. We're sitting at just over 3 months until the election. As of today, the Leaf goes on strike! No more blogs, no more snark, until our demands are met! Well, they aren't really demands, but they're a good idea nonetheless.
We admit it. We're stealing the idea of a blog strike from Burnt Orange Report. But if they can raise $1000 in one day for Chris Bell, we can do the same over here for some of our selected candidates!
We set up the Texas Cloverleaf Candidate Fund a while back, with only a handful of donations made. It's time to change that. Put your money where your fingers are!
We've selected 4 candidates from the Fund. They have fairly low ActBlue donation numbers (which is not a reflection of their total haul of course). So here is the challenge....
Get Ken Leach to $2000 (his current total is $1693.....only $307 away!)
Get Tom Love to $1000 (his current total is $425....only $575 away!)
Get John McClelland to $2000 (his current total is $781....only $1219 away!)
Get Mark Thompson to $250 (his current total is $20....only $230 away!)
That is $2331 we need to raise! We think that is a reasonable number for 4 candidates. The deadline is August 15th!
Ken Leach and Tom Love are vital to taking back gerrymandered Congressional districts in North Texas from the lumps on a log: Burgess and Marchant. John McClelland can send Crownover packing to live with her boyfriend in Craddick's office. And Mark Thompson can bring us a voice on an oil soaked Railroad Commission. They have all been working hard from Day 1 in the campaign season, and are poised to bring us victories in November.
All you have to do is donate to these candidates through the Texas Cloverleaf Candidate Fund. With your help, these candidates can get their name out there, and take back seats we should have had long ago! Chip in $100...$50...$25...$10. With everyone's help, we can reach our goal in no time.
