Texas Secretary of State Phil Wilson is announcing his resignation effective July 6, after one year on the job after taking over for Roger Williams. Just as Secretary Williams did, Wilson is leaving to "pursue other interests".
Isn't that the reason most people leave a job? You can't really leave a position like this and say "Governor 39% is an asshole. And my 401K is in the shitter. I would rather become a lobbyist. Peace out, bitches."
No word on a replacement, or what exactly Wilson's other opportunities might be. But we still say lobbyist looks good. Oh, and we hope the DPS makes sure he has an alibi for this past Sunday before we let him escape. We're still looking for an arsonist.
