Need we say more, if you live in Texas? Apparently we do, in case you don't live here or haven't viewed the statewide results listed online. Here is what happens when you have uninformed voters. Someone who either didn't have the funding to run a race, or simply chose not to run except by placing his name on the ballot, ends up with the most votes over 2 highly more qualified candidates for Railroad Commissioner. As it currently stands, with 48.3% of the vote he still has to go to a runoff with Dale Henry (our preferred candidate in the race).
Our other friend, back from the dead, Gene Kelly did not force a runoff in the Senate race like he did in 2006. However his 26.89% was an overwhelming 2nd place over independent turned Democrat, Corpus Christi school teacher Ray McMurrey. McMurrey actually campaigned. He wanted to make a serious challenge to Rick Noriega (who is our winner with 50.97%) And once again, someone was foiled by a guy who simply pays to place his name on the ballot and does nothing else. The dancer is dead, people! Stop voting for him!
Next time you all go to vote and take part in your democracy, please, for the love of..... please. Just do your homework and stay informed. We can't afford another F up on the part of uninformed voters.
