The DMN is reporting that Governor 39% has dug deep for a new crony in Austin. Dallas Blog editor, and former chairman of the TX GOP, Tom Pauken has been pegged as the new head of the Texas Workforce Commission.
There are so many ironies to the situation. If you've read Dallas Blog, you know Tom is pretty hard to the right. It is especially bad when the AFL-CIO hates your guts.
This also coincides with Perry's lack of common sense yesterday. Dallas Blog reported Perry's newest tax cut, which we like to call the "Go Fuck Yourselves, Laid Off Losers" package. Perry is giving his corporate buddies a one year tax break, because the TWC can currently afford its payments to those who have no job. Of course, Perry doesn't ever plan for the future, and we suppose he doesn't see the impending doom when unemployment will increase in the new economy.
We hope we keep our jobs this year, as we are pretty much screwed under this new plan.
